Duration:  90 minutes

About the workshop:

Many facilitators are helping organizations navigate environments marked by uncertainty, competing priorities, shifting stakeholder expectations, and rapid change. Yet many planning and decision-making processes still assume a level of stability that no longer exists.

This highly interactive workshop explores practical approaches for helping groups make decisions, prioritize competing demands, surface assumptions, and maintain momentum when conditions are constantly changing. Through realistic scenarios, peer discussion, and small-group exercises, participants will experience facilitation techniques they can adapt to strategic planning, team development, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change efforts.

Rather than focusing on a specific planning methodology, the session examines how facilitators can help groups create clarity, adapt to changing conditions, and move from uncertainty toward purposeful action.

Learning Objectives

In this session, participants will:

  • Identify common facilitation challenges that emerge when groups operate in uncertain environments.

  • Apply practical techniques to help groups prioritize competing demands and make difficult decisions.

  • Facilitate conversations that surface assumptions and encourage adaptive thinking.

  • Recognize when planning processes may need adjustment as conditions change.

  • Design conversations that help groups maintain momentum while remaining responsive to new information.

Best suited for: All levels

NOTE: This series will be recorded for distribution to all who register (breakout rooms will not be recorded).

This is a 90-minute online workshop. It will take place at 12:00pm - 1:30pm EDT.
