Duration:  90 minutes

About the workshop:

Facilitators can practice a problem-solving approach (Action Learning) where small groups work on real problems, take action, and learn to adapt, innovate, and lead while they do it.

Participants will be asked to bring a pressing and significant problem they hope to work on; small groups will each address one of these problems. The group work is done through asking and answering questions, with statements only made if they are answers to questions.

This session will follow the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL) method; further information is available at https://wial.org/.

Learning Objectives

In this session, participants will:

  • Practice problem-solving by asking questions instead of making statements

  • Frame a problem from multiple points of view

  • Apply a leadership skill to a small-group problem-solving conversation

Best suited for: Appropriate for all levels

NOTE: This workshop will be recorded for distribution to all who register (breakout rooms will not be recorded).

This is a 90-minute online workshop. It will take place at 12:00pm - 1:30pm EDT.
