Biography
Susan has facilitated teambuilding and strategic planning processes for clients in the federal, corporate and nonprofit sectors in the US and across the globe. As part of the process, she conducts needs assessments, designs agenda with staff participation, facilitates meetings, develops summary recommendations and provides follow-up services. She has led projects ranging from women’s leadership to management training to negotiation workshops. She engages her clients in dialogue to explore their unique needs and develop strategic solutions. Working in partnership with her clients, she’s mindful that her work is culturally relevant and impactful. As a certified coach, Susan has worked with leaders at all levels to help them uncover their own wisdom to find the answers they need. As a mediator certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia, she facilitates dialogue between people in conflict so that they can find new ways to resolve their mutual problems. She was awarded a Faculty Excellence Award by the Graduate School and is a contributing writer to the book, "The Insider’s Guide to Supervising Government Employees." In addition, she is certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Virtual Instructor-led Online Training. She also has a certificate in Design Thinking from the International Society for Performance Improvement and Stanford University.

Project Descriptions
Susan provides coaching and facilitates teambuilding, strategic planning and focus groups for the National Institutes of Health. She also leads teambuilding, strategic planning and conflict intervention efforts for the US Agency for International Development in Washington, DC and for missions worldwide. She works with the Bureau of Global Health to facilitate planning and has worked in Haiti, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition, she works on leadership development programs for the United Nations and Daimler/Mercedes Benz. She has designed and delivered women's leadership programs for Women for Women International sponsored by the Grameen Bank and for Creative Associates. She's also facilitating a project to eradicate zika in Central America and the Caribbean. And she's trained the management staff of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades on a range of topics from emotional and conversational intelligence to performance management to teambuilding.
