Biography
Linda Howard, CVF, CMC, PMP, has over 25 years of experience in facilitation, project management, organization management, strategic planning, business process improvement, outreach and communication, and teambuilding.
As a Certified Virtual Facilitator (CVF), Linda helps nonprofit leaders, facilitators, coaches, and others transform their conferences, workshops and events into a model that would work online, or in a hybrid or in-person model, depending on the needs of the organization. Linda helps organizations plan, design, and produce virtual conferences and events, facilitate virtual retreats and meetings, and deliver workshops with high levels of audience engagement, primarily using the Zoom video conferencing platform. Linda is also the Virtual Workshop Producer for the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network (MAFN) and regularly produces workshops, recruits and prepares speakers, prepares promotional materials, and trains and coordinates moderators for very interactive facilitated workshops with up to 100 participants.
Howard Consulting’s team includes process facilitators, visual facilitators and graphic recorders, project managers, and management consultants, working in a variety of disciplines. Linda has facilitated workshops and retreats focused on research and development, team performance, process and performance improvement, work/project planning, requirements gathering, strategic planning, and communication planning.
Howard Consulting conducts more than 90% of its work virtually. During 2020, many engagements focused on helping nonprofits and associations transition their in-person conferences, meetings, and convenings to an online platform and designing interactive agendas to keep participants involved and engaged. In 2021, Linda became a Pandemic Compliance Advisor, certified by Health Education Services, and continues to help organizations move to online platforms while also helping them navigate the challenges of moving back to hybrid or in-person events.
Recently, Linda helped a large research and development nonprofit convene a group of 40 scientists to gather insights and identify challenges and ideas in support of a high-impact strategic initiative. Participants reported that it was the most engaging and effective online collaborative session they had attended online. In another recent project, she helped a nonprofit advocacy campaign develop a new organization structure and work plan so they could scale their capacity to have a larger impact on energy innovation and policy.
Linda is an Everything DiSC® and 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team® facilitator. She serves on the board of directors for the Institute of Management Consultants, National Capital Region chapter. Linda is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is one of only a few people in the country who has been awarded both the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC) certifications.
