About the workshop:

If you have ever been asked "Can you please help us? We have so many issues in my office I don't know where to start", then this is the workshop for you. It will focus on how to intervene in office environments experiencing high levels of conflict. The workshop will provide a highly customizable template for engaging in such interventions, along with tools for facilitating critical conversations and other suggested strategies for providing "full spectrum" interventions.

This workshop will focus on two primary topics:If you have ever been asked "Can you please help us? We have so many issues in my office I don't know where to start", then this is the workshop for you. It will focus on how to intervene in office environments experiencing high levels of conflict. The workshop will provide a highly customizable template for engaging in such interventions, along with tools for facilitating critical conversations and other suggested strategies for providing "full spectrum" interventions.
This workshop will focus on two primary topics:

  1. Designing “wide spectrum” interventions into workplaces experiencing conflict. The workshop will provide a “template” approach from which the practitioner can modify the intervention according to the needs of the specific situation. We will examine the different phases of these interventions and explore the various activities present in each phase. In addition we will discuss the issues, concerns, tools, tactics and approaches practitioners can use in each phase.

  2. Drill down into a model for “hard to handle discussions” around topics that are difficult to address. This model focuses on exploring mental models, unstated expectations, assumptions, norms, behaviors and triggers which typically drive group conflicts. We will also specifically look at the conceptual framework behind the model presented, as well as tools to assist in the facilitation of these discussions.
Learning Objectives
In this session, participants will:
  • Provide and familiarize participants  with a template approach to interventions in systemic conflicts that can be used/modified with clients
  • Determine specific approaches and activities to use with clients in specific phases of these interventions, and understand how and why to apply them
  • Provide and familiarize participants  with a conceptual approach to difficult conversations focusing on “getting below the waterline of the iceberg” to raise the unconscious drivers of conflict
This is a 90-minute online workshop. It will take place from 12:00pm to 1:30pm EST.
