Inclusion is a basic tenet of facilitating and it is imperative when working with diverse groups. Ensuring that each member is fully included and able to participate in the work and successes of the group can be a significant challenge. Yes, values statements, DEI policies, and organizational changes are important, but the most important factor in creating an inclusive environment is how people treat each other. Culture change at the individual level begins with an understanding of privilege and marginalization, and the ability to recognize and address the subtle behaviors that perpetuate inequities. Join us for Include is a Verb, a 90-minute conversation to explore the dimensions of diversity, the varied forms of social privilege, and how this knowledge and awareness can be applied to your work as a facilitator.
